The battle between Gotenks and Majin Buu rages on inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. On the outside, family and friends wait anxiously for Gotenks and Piccolo to reappear. Can they successfully defeat Majin Buu and make it out alive? Piccolo begins his epic battle against 17, and he seems to be on par with the mechanical monster, meanwhile Bulma continues to work on the remote that will shut down the Androids. Cell can feel Piccolo's energy, and knows he must be fighting one of the Androids, he charges towards them, in the hope that he will become complete. Gohan and Cell begin their fight, with Cell at an obvious advantage. However, Goku remains confident in Gohan's abilities and reminds the Z-Fighters about Gohan's hidden power since the fight with Raditz. Gohan continues his training on the World of the Kais. Meanwhile, Gotenks briefly takes the upper hand in the battle with Majin Buu before his techniques begin to fall apart. Will Gohan be ready in time to step in and finish the fight?Goku is nowhere to be found, and Chi Chi is getting madder by the minute! But Goku has his hands full guarding four dragon eggs from the dangers of the wild. Even if he can save the dragons, he will soon face an even more dangerous peril… An angry Chi-Chi! Vegeta lies unconscious after an intense battle with Cell, and Trunks unleashes his hidden powers to save his father's life. With Goku and Gohan still training and the other fighters clearly out-leagued, Trunks is the only person standing in the evil android's way. Just how far can the young Saiyan's power go? As a Great Ape, Vegeta begins toying with Goku. Goku tries to hit him with a Spirit Bomb, but Vegeta notices and blasts him before he can.

Frieza introduces the Ginyu Force, and Vegeta is forced to team up with Gohan and Krillin. Captain Ginyu steals the Dragon Balls, while Gohan and Krillin prepare to fight Guldo, the weakest member of the Ginyu Force. Kami puts Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, and Chiaotzu in the Pendulum Room, where they fight against two Saiyans, who beat the Z-Fighters, but are told by Kami the two Saiyans were not as powerful as the ones on their way to Earth. The battle between Goku and Frieza rages on as Namek's destruction draws closer. On Earth, all seven Dragon Balls have been collected and King Kai formulates to save the inhabitants of Namek and put an end to Frieza. Kami and Mr. Popo then summon Shenron.Unable to stand by and watch the torture any longer, Gohan leaps out of hiding to rescue a Namek boy from the clutches of Frieza?s evil henchmen. Before Gohan gets to school Gohan stops some local thugs thus turning into a Super Saiyan thinking no one will recognize him. When walking away after defeating the thugs he runs into Videl, Hercule's daughter. He manages to get away while an old man tells Videl what happened. When finally getting to school he finds out how fast things can go around the city for everyone in school is making a legend of him and calling him the golden fighter. Gohan has a hard time keeping his identity secret for Videl thinks that the Golden Fighter is him. Then comes baseball and he accidentally shows a little bit of his power. Then he finally gets though the day. Somehow.....

The Great Saiyaman rescues a baby dino from a circus, but Videl thinks he's stealing it, and confronts him! Gohan wants to avoid fighting her, and then the dino's parents come! Saiyaman gets cut, before beating the dad dino, then sending the pair home with the mother. Videl sees that Gohan has a cut in the same place, and puts 2 and 2 together to figure out that Gohan is Saiyaman. She says she will not tell if Gohan competes in the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament. Her other condition was that he teach her to fly.Note: This is Part 3 of the edited Tree of Might dub. It was originally aired as if it were part of the Television series. Despite his increase of power, Vegeta can't take down Frieza. As Frieza pummels the beaten Vegeta, the others, gripped with fear, have no choice but to agonisingly watch. But as all hope seems lost, Goku fully recovers inside Frieza's spaceship and discovers his power has greatly increased since his battle with Captain Ginyu. As Bulma, Krillin, and Gohan close in on the last of the dragon balls, they instead uncover the secret identities of some Namekkian friends. And while Goku works to build up his strength, Vegeta seeks to quench his thirst for vengeance--his sights set on only one thing: Destruction. A year later after gaining newly found popularity on Toonami, the series was reconsidered for continuation. FUNimation began dubbing episodes 54 through 276 (the series finale) on their own, with their own in-house voice actors and studio equipment from September 13, 1999 to April 7, 2003. This re-dub is often referred to as the Funimation dub.
